Check out the pictures of this guy chained up in military gear.
He’s on GearFetish as levi501guy

Its good to see the cuffs properly applied as in those last 2 pictures ……… hands behind the back, palms facing out – and preferably with the keyholes facing away from the hands but that’s not always possible.
Thanks for the clarification Kojak. Correct application is …… hands behind the back, palms out, bows underneath and keyholes facing away from the hands wherever possible.
Having said that, the debate about which way the keyholes should face has been going on for “ever” – some argue that they should face away from the hands to restrict the chances of a prisoner getting to the keyholes (if he had a key!), others argue that the keyholes should face down the arms to make for easier un-cuffing. I always go for keyholes facing up the arms – away from the hands.
However, this debate might shortly come to an end since, as many of you will know, all ASP cuffs allow key access from either side of the cuff and furthermore, the latest cuffs made here in the UK by TCH (successors to Hiatt) allow key access from either side.
You’ve summed up the application far better than I did Mike.
Most of us are familiar with the ASP’s and even though they’re made in the USA there’s one police force here in the UK that now has the chain version as standard issue.
I’ve recently been issued with a pair of the new TCH double-keyhole cuffs … the chain model for use on plain-clothes duties-they’re of the usual TCH high quality and I have to say that there’ve already been occasions when it was good to have easier access for unlocking.
I had no intention of taking the levi501guy posting off-topic, especially as I’d already submitted a post on cuffs used by cops here in the UK so if you’re interested take a look at it – it was posted here on 22 August last year. You can find it by going to the August 2012 tab and scrolling down loads of pages until you come to the item “Guest author: Mikeintightpants on getting cuffed in UK” – OR (and much quicker) do a search on “Mikeintightpants” and scroll through just a few pages until you find my contribution.

ooops I was in to much of a hurry, should have looked at the pictures properly ___ the bows should be underneath; but they’re still great pictures.
