  1. I worked for the Wisconsin DHSS in various mental institutions when I got out of the Air Force. I posed as a caregiver while collecting information on abuse. It became my belief that anyone who is a caregiver in an institution, what ever it is, should have to go through a week or two of institutionalization (anonymously) to learn what it feels like to be an inmate. I believe that the training would develop and understanding of what it feels like to be an inmate and it would help those workers gain greater compassion for their charge.

At the same time, especially once I saw the fictional version of the Stanford Experiment, I found myself fantasizing about being an inmate for a pre-determined period of time.
