I think at about 6 weeks I would sent an old, useless key that I had sitting around . . . Imagine the frustration after the mail arrives, with the weight/shape of a key . . . and then finding a note inside that says “Not sure whether this is your key or not . . . “
If it was the key to my device I’d be disappointed if it wasn’t at least 3 months
If you are not under any contractual obligation to return it, then you might as well keep it.
