Preparing for the Night
Whereas before, with only the padded leather cap, I still had the opportunity to speak, even if everything was muffled by the harness, now there was no option to articulate a single word. Even though I hadn’t said anything the whole time, suddenly being deprived of the opportunity to say anything scared me again. There was that sinking feeling in my stomach again.
