I learned today that porn star Arpad Miklos, whose real name was Peter Kozma, has died. This is very sad news indeed.
I saw him out at Fire Island a couple times, and I saw him quite a bit at the gym, sometimes almost every day. He was stunningly, head-turningly good looking. And he always seemed (at least to me) that he was in a good mood. I never talked to him, but he seemed like a genuinely nice person. I understand he was a chemical engineer in Hungary before he moved to the United States and taught himself English. Arpad did not participate in much bondage-related porn that I know of, but he did do some modeling for fetish gear.
Apparently, the cause of death was suicide. It is very sad that someone so smart and good-looking would be unhappy.
I learned with great sadness recently of the passing of Dirk Praga.
Unfortunately I do not have pictures that do Dirk justice, but trust me, Dirk was one of HOTTEST men in Second Life. He was also one of the nicest. Even better, he was SERIOUS about metal bondage. He sure knew how to make the locks inescapable, the predicaments challenging, and the dungeon accommodations secure and uncompromising. He was always willing to teach a “noob” the ropes, and he was generous by sharing his living accommodations and his prison facilities. He also protected many others. That’s right, despite his quite intimidating looks — often in full leather and mirrored sunglasses — he was also incredibly friendly.
He is greatly missed by his many friends, including Rio Naidoo, Gimpsub Crazyboi, Steel Vlodovic — and many, many more.
Second Life will never be the same, nor nearly as exciting, without Dirk Praga.
Dirk, I salute you.
You are greatly missed.
How very sad. Porn star Erik Rhodes has died at age 30, after an apparent heart attack. His real name was James, and I used to see him out and about all the time in my neighborhood in Manhattan, but unfortunately I never met him or talked to him. He certainly was a head-turner. I understand from reading about him and hearing about him from friends of mine who met him, that he was a troubled soul. And that makes me very sad.
Here’s a picture of Erik on the set of the Falcon production of The Pledgemaster, and there are more pictures from this video posted here.
For those who want to read more about James, there’s a very nice tribute to him on the blog of Derek Hartley.
The beloved Rob Cline, aka mdbndgboy, passed away recently. I am told that he had been struggling with the ALS-type symptoms since last fall.
Rob was one of the sweetest, most affable men I have ever known. He was also quite kinky, and he was also a real exhibitionist. I remember one Delta when he spent the first 48 hours tied up and blindfolded. Each December he would send out his famous Christmas cards, with pictures of himself in various forms of restraint over the past year.
Rob was active in Delta, the 15 Association (Bootcamp), the New York Renegades, the Philadelphia Bondage Club, plus just about any other ‘gathering’ you can think of. He appeared in Drummer, Bound and Gagged and several other magazines over the years.
He also wrote a book, How I Became America’s Most Requested Bondageboy, which is available on Amazon kindle.
I learned today that Jim (Maurice) Stewart has passed away.
Jim, who was a writer, playwright and producer, founded Fetters in London in 1976, which is now an internationally known source of efficient physical restraint equipment and other erotic fetish gear. Fetters was inspired by Jim’s profound interest in Harry Houdini and escapology. Jim had a website, called Houdini Connections.
I had the pleasure of meeting Jim when he came to present at GMSMA in New York City in the mid 1990s. Since then, we had been regular correspondents via email over the years.
He will be missed.
