Chapter 1
Monday 16th
Ear hoops and ball Straps.

I had been to the gym and had a good session with my personal trainer being introduced to three new exercises. My shoulders were enjoying being used more robustly. I was enjoying my new gym and found that it was a relaxed place with a good mixed crowd. It was the only local gym to open at 6am. I had only been going for a few weeks and was getting into the new routines well. I left and slow jogged home. I dropped of my bag and put some shopping away. It was a beautiful cold sunny morning. I didn’t want to start work again and decided to go for a walk to the wetlands and then back through the nature reserve. They are down the road from my house and by the reservoirs for East London. I put on a warmer anorak and set off down Forest Road. I was wandering rather than my usual brisk walking pace and enjoying the sunshine. I wandered down the slight hill leaving the buildings behind and watched the sunlight dancing across the surface of the water in the five main reservoirs.

There were some Thames Water guys doing some maintenance on the other side of the fence. I saw one of them had large hoop stretchers in his ears and a septum piercing in his nose. He looked up and I smiled. He waved me over, so I stopped and looked through the palisade fence.
