Sadly, the MaleBots site has gone down, and from the looks of things, it is likely gone forever.
This makes me very sad, not only because the site was a great meeting spot for guys into a specific fetish, but even more so because their extensive library of stories is no longer accessible. I hope that somebody has their vast library of male erotic fiction archived somewhere!
It’s the latest in a long line of sites and platforms to vanish. I still miss Boot Lust, GearFetish, and many other sites, not to mention the large number of Yahoo groups that we once had featuring tons of stories about male bondage, prison, slaves, and much more.
Just today, Tumblr announced that it is going to be banning all porn content later this month. Their statement is here.
I am very sad about this news. The Tumblr app on my iPad has been part of my morning beat-off routine for quite some time now, and I am very much going to miss it. For those of us who have used the platform to explore various kinks, this comes as even sadder news. If you are like me, you have probably discovered through Tumblr that you are into a number of kinks you didn’t even know existed before!
As Metalbond, I have a Tumblr page of my own, and I am not sure yet if I am going to try to keep the page going by deleting the “sensitive” posts and save my account, or let it get obliterated with countless other pages that will soon vanish.
Doomsday for the porn content on Tumblr is December 17. Therefore if there are any pictures, stories or contact information on the platform that you want, my urgent suggestion would be to save whatever you can, right now, to your hard drive!
There’s a “condoms in porn” ballot proposal under consideration in California that everyone I know who works in the porn industry is vehemently opposed to. In addition, just about every major newspaper in the state is against it.
You can learn more at Stop60.com. If you are on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #NoProp60.
Metal would like to thank @EricPaulLeue for providing information on this.
ALSO IMPORTANT: Metalbond endorses Clinton for president — and Roy Cooper for governor of North Carolina, who must be elected to defeat the anti-LGBT bully Pat MCrory in that state.
I’m completely infuriated, appalled and disgusted about the Rentboy arrests and the site being shut down.
First of all, what the fuck is the Homeland Security Department doing, going after gay male escorts? Don’t they have more important things to do, like going after the fucking terrorists!!??
This bust had nothing to do with terrorism, money laundering, sex trafficking or illegal exploitation of minors — all of which should be stopped, unquestionably. Rentboy was as a safe, reliable way for CONSENTING ADULT MEN to connect with each other. They had been operating openly for almost two decades.
Personally, I am going to miss the site very much. From time to time, I have hired guys off Rentboy. Why? Because the escorts who advertised on Rentboy paid a subscription fee and were reviewed by their clients, I found it was a FAR SAFER way to find what I needed than relying on Craig’s List or a phone line or somebody off the street. (And, truth be told, sometimes I just enjoyed browsing the guys on Rentboy and fantasizing, beating off looking at their pictures and reading their profiles!)
A lot has been written already about this stupid, anti-gay attack. If you have not already done so, you might want to read various articles and blog postings and view videos posted by Matt Baume, Dirk Caber, JamesMichael Nichols and Matthew Ebert. There are many others. Even The New York Times has editorialized against the raid.
Perhaps the most compelling account yet is from our own Rob Yaeger. You might recognize him from some of his bondage-themed porn shoots that have been featured here on Metalbond. The video below featuring Mr. Yaeger is a must-see:
UPDATE: YouTube deleted the video, but you can watch it by clicking here.
Sometimes I get a bit frustrated when some of my fellow bloggers whom I link to, won’t link back to me. I won’t name any names, but I reached out to about half a dozen of them today. It’s one thing if a particular website does not have ANY links at all, or if it has not been updated since the Carter administration. But there are a number of guys out there who DO have active sites with links, who just won’t be nice and return the favor. Frustrating.
I was always told that when it comes to electro, keep it BELOW the waist. I see this stuff in gay bondage porn quite a lot. But you don’t want to run an electrical current through someone’s body close to the heart.
There is nothing wrong with fantasizing, of course. If you look closely at these pictures of Lance from Dream Boy Bondage, you might notice that he is clamped with rubber-tipped nip clamps, so there is no actual electrical current involved. In other words, what is pictured is “simulated electro” for fantasy purposes only.
Bottom line: Just because you see something on the Tumbly thing or in porn, doesn’t mean you should do it in real life.
OK prisoners, I said this before but I will say it again. The words “jail” and “prison” are often used interchangeably, but actually they are two different things.
“Jail” is a where you are kept when you are being tried for a crime, or are awaiting trial or sentencing. It is also where you actually serve your sentence for misdemeanors. Jails are generally run by counties or municipalities. Jail is where you go when you get arrested. If you are OJ Simpson, jail is where you go when you are unjustly accused of double murder and have to go on trial in Los Angeles. Of course everyone knows he was completely innocent, so they released him from jail.
“Prison” on the other hand is a broad term that describes a variety of institutions, from maximum-security “penitentiaries,” to medium-security lockups known as “correctional facilities” or “correctional institutions.” Prisons are run by the states or the federal government. Prison is where you go to serve your sentence when you have been convicted of a felony. It is where O.J. ended up after being convicted of something in Las Vegas, nobody really remembers what but apparently it was serious. Prison is where you do hard time. It is where you get tattoos. Prison is where you get fucked by Christopher Meloni in the shower.
Now that you know all this, you will probably start to notice all sorts of incorrect uses of these words in news broadcasts, on TV shows, in movies and in general conversation. Before you get your cuffs all in a twist and start emailing me, accusing ME of misusing the terms “jail” and “prison,” hang on. I know I have probably violated these rules myself on this very blog.
Here are some more pictures of jails and prisons and the men who dwell in them:
