S/M training course for novices starts in January

Hey fellas, a lot of you ask me from time to time about where you can learn more about s/m. A great place to start, if you are located in New York City, is a special, six-session “Novices in S/M” course, to be held starting in January.

Here are the details:

THIS COURSE IS ONLY OFFERED ONCE A YEAR!

For the 26th year, Gil will conduct a course consisting of six four-hour S/M workshops for both “Tops” and “bottoms” who have little or no experience (or who simply want to brush up on their skills). It is open to men who are at least 19 years of age, and is limited to 24 attendees maximum. You do not have to be gay or a TES member, but attendees must feel comfortable being nude at times (sessions 3, 4, 5 and 6) and working with other men. Everyone participates as both top and bottom, as they demonstrate and workshop everything in a way that is enjoyable and fun, but educational.

Among the areas covered will be basic bondage, spanking and flogging, tit and genitorture, rope harnesses, things that pinch, mummification and electricity (see the schedule below). The course meets every other Sunday afternoon from 3-7 pm, beginning January 11. There is a one-time fee of $40 for TES members or $50 for non-members that covers all the supplies, notes and refreshments for the course.

Jan. 11, 2015: Intro to S/M; Being a Good Top/bottom; Basic Rope Bondage

Jan. 25, 2015: Spanking and Flogging; handout: Caning

Feb. 8, 2015: Gags/Blindfolds; Tit Play & Genitorture (including Abrasion & Bruising)

Feb. 22. 2015: Rope Harnesses; Things That Pinch; Orchestrating the Scene (& Role Play and Fantasies)

March 8, 2015: Mummification

March 22, 2015: Basic Electricity for Pleasure; Round Table Discussion

Only those officially signed up for the course may attend, and no new people are added after Session 2. It is not a “pick-and-choose” course, so do not apply unless you can attend most of the sessions (check with Gil about other attendance requirements). The workshops are held at Gil’s home in the West Village in New York City. If you are interested, make contact as soon as possible to reserve a place.

Metalbond mail: A question about the real-life implications of slavery

Dear Metal,

Do you know of a resource Masters and potential slaves can access that talks about some of the FAQs on entering into a full-time position as a slave? In particular, something that might help a slave with health care, financial planning, release from slavery, immigration status issues, etc.? I often have subs who want full-time slavery under My control, but they fail to comprehend life beyond the sexual fantasy.

Wow, that’s a very good question. I would start with an organization like Masters and slaves Together (MAsT), where you might find some helpful information:

There are also a couple of books out there that go beyond the “sexual fantasy” of slavery and talk about men living the lifestyle 24/7.

“Dear Raven and Joshua” by Raven Kaldera and his slave Joshua Tenpenny. These guys have been together more than 10 years and know what they’re talking about. It’s in Q&A format.

There’s also “Ask the Man Who Owns Him” by david stein with David Schachter. Unlike all other M/s books, this one gives you more than the opinions of one or two people; instead, it describes 16 different long-term M/s relationships, plus Mr. Schachter’s, in the participants’ own words.
