20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

I saw this movie on TV when I was a kid and I think it is what cemented bondage in my mind, forever.

It was described at the time (1954) as “the most thrilling sequence ever photographed in motion picture history.” I remember watching this as a kid, with my dad, and being at once terrified — and also incredibly turned on — by seeing the tentacles of the monster grab the sailors. Once a sailor was in the tight grip of the squid, there was nothing he could do escape.

Anyway back to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This was a well-made movie spectacle, and it featured a very young Kirk Douglas, who looks like a total hunk in his red and white striped shirt. If you have never seen this movie, I recommend you put it in your Netflix queue immediately. Or you can get it on Amazon.

See below for the movie trailer.

(HINT: the squid attack starts at 3:40.)

Bondage at the movies: Kink – The documentary movie

Last night I attended the NYC premiere of “Kink,” the James Franco-produced documentary on the inner workings of Kink.com, with my friend Pisslurper. I ran into a bunch of other “usual suspects” there, including some familiar faces from the long lost days of GMSMA, and a few other guys.

The movie was shown at Lincoln Center as part of the NewFest LGBT Film Festival. It was VERY explicit, and I am not sure when or how it would ever be shown to the masses. Despite featuring a few more women than men, I was nevertheless intrigued by seeing some of the inner workings of the company, especially since I had the privilege of visiting the Armory, the building in San Francico where it all happens, a few years back. (For more about that, you can read my post Meting Van Darkholme.)

Pisslurper and I particularly enjoyed seeing Jessie Colter. We’re both longtime admirers of the gay male-themed sites available from Kink.com — namely, Bound Gods, Men on Edge, Bound In Public, Naked Kombat and Butt Machine Boys.

Here are a few gratuitous pictures from some recent (or not so recent) offerings from the gay sites at Kink.com. Clicking on any of these pictures will take you directly to the specific scenes depicted at these various pay sites (which are worth every penny, in my opinion):

Yeah, that’s Master Avery on the pages of Rolling Stone mag

The latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine (circulation, 12 trillion) arrived at Metalbond’s apartment, and lo and behold, it’s none other than Master Avery – aka Christian Patrick – pictured in an article about the Sundance Film Festival!

You can see lots more of Master Avery right here on Metalbond by clicking here, and you can see him in action over at the various Kink.com sites by clicking here.

(Meanwhile, does anyone know how I might actually see the movie ‘Interior: Leather Bar’?)

The Real Midnight Express

Does anybody remember the movie Midnight Express?

I remember watching this a long time ago and being incredibly turned on yet also scared half out of my wits. A large part of the movie’s appeal for me was the very hot and studly Brad Davis in the lead role. If you are not familiar with this Oscar-winning movie, it told the (mostly) true story of 23-year-old college student Billy Hayes, who was locked up for drug smuggling in Istanbul, Turkey. He eventually escaped.

An episode from a while back of the National Geographic channel’s Locked Up Abroad interviews the REAL Billy Hayes and tells his real story.
