Lockdown update

Hey prisoners, how are you all handling the lockdown? I hope you’re all doing well, and staying safe and healthy. Just a quick update from NYC — things are still fine at this end, and I have been working on my day job during the day and doing Metalbond updates after hours and on the weekends. I miss my local barbershop, though! I finally gave in and gave myself a buzz cut late last week.

In the coning days and weeks, there will be lots more posts coming to the Metalbond site, including many new stories. In fact, there’s enough in my inbox now for “story week” which can start as early as tonight. One of the stories will be a re-post of a long-running popular series, because the author of that one has updated it with a brand new chapter, so be sure to watch for that.

Meanwhile if you have not already done so, now is a really good time to subscribe to a gay bondage pay site. You’ll be helping the kink economy! Two of the sites in particular — Serious Male Bondage and Men In Chains — have been adding some really cool content recently, so be sure to check them out. There is also a special promotion going on at KinkMen — if you use the promo code “STIRCRAZYMEN” you can save.

You can also order items from websites of retailers like Sinvention and E-Stim Systems, whose online businesses are still up and running even during the pandemic. When ordering from E-Stim, be sure to use the code “METALBOND” at checkout to save 10 percent on your order (offer is good for one time only).

All of the pay sites and businesses mentioned above are longtime supporters and friends, and by patronizing them you are supporting the Metalbond site!

How is everybody doing?

Hey prisoners, guards, slaves, Masters, dogs, pups, cucks, Sirs, boys, bois, gimps and pervs (you know which one you are), just a quick note to let you know that Metal loves you and hopes that you are staying safe, sane and healthy, wherever you are!

Here in NYC, I’m staying inside almost constantly and only going out for short walks and to go to the store. I have plenty of food and everything I need, and I feel completely fine health-wise. Thankfully I am still employed, doing my full-time job as an editor and writer from home. I have also been working on the Metalbond site as well, mostly after hours and on the weekends. Many of you guys have sent stories and pictures, which I will be posting in the coming days and weeks.

Meanwhile, no matter how bad things get in the real world — and things are likely to get worse before they get better — we should all try to hang in there as best we can, take care of ourselves and check with friends and family, and try to keep a positive attitude.

James — 2019 Review

Master Alan pointed out to me this morning that it’s been almost a full year since we have updated you on my training and life as his human dog and thought it would be a good thing for me to come sit and write about the last year. When he said this, I realized so much just feels natural that it’s often not too often I think to document it now.

Last year I wrote about our New Year’s parties and we are currently in heavy planning for those coming up next week. I have not been told if I will be allowed to attend the employee one this year (last year I was caged in the closet) but know I will be at the family and friend’s one diligently looking for scraps on the floor from my all fours position. It was a warm Christmas here in Atlanta, so Master was very excited that I did not have to dress and could stay naked on all fours throughout the day, including two of the holiday parties we attended.

Both of them have private driveways so I was in full dog mode from the minute he left me out of the tailgate of the SUV. I am lucky that he lets me dress and ride in the backseat as a human, but this year he bought a BMW X7 with a big hatch area, so, when in the proper place I now “transform” in the back seat and exit from the hatch. It’s been an adjustment getting my old body to make that jump!

‘Extremities of the Earth’ issue of New York Times Magazine

The New York Times Magazine recently published a “Voyages Issue” featuring pictures of extreme wetsuits, diving gear and more. I scanned in the cover:

A link to the article on their website is here.

This was published in print on Sept. 29, 2019. I still have my hard copy. If someone genuinely wants my print copy of the magazine from this date, let me know and I will mail it to you!

This is a really good book

I recently finished “My Leather Life: Early Years” by Peter Fiske, narrated by Thomas V. Peterson, and I can’t recommend this book enough!

It’s available for purchase on Amazon.

Peter Fiske book review

Peter is one of our most passionate and loving of leather elders, who is well known in gay s/m circles as an expert in flogging and whipping. For anyone interested in learning more about this topic — as well as anyone who wants to understand more in general about who we are as kinky folk and where we came from — this book is highly recommended!

Peter shares personal stories of growing up in New York City and discovering a sexual interest in bondage and spanking at a young age. He also tells of serving in the military in the segregated South and finding leather sex at a dirty movie theater in Times Square. All of this takes place pre-Stonewall! Speaking of Stonewall, Peter was also a patron of this famous bar and tells of being present at three different raids before the famous rioting took place in late June 1969.

Peter was also active in the leather scene in San Francisco, meeting many of the “old guard” leather men of the day and joining a back patch club and attending leather runs. Peter later became active in brotherhood organizations, including The 15 Association, the Chicago Hellfire Club and Delta.

“‘My Leather Life’ reads like porn, but it is my life,” Peter shared in a recent posting on Facebook.

“All of our stories matter. Mine is no different than any of my readers,” Peter continued. “I have been lucky to live at the center and to find love. If you take one thing from my book, it is that it’s in your power to live authentically and to find your love and your friends. Drag queens told me that in the 60s. Be real. You can be real too. All it takes is courage and a glad heart.”

The group picture shown in this blog posting is in the book and is also from Peter’s Facebook page. The caption states that it is from the Folsom Fair in San Francisco in September 1991 and shows, from left, Shadow Morton, Coulter “Colt’ Thomas (who was the fifth International Mr. Leather and Peter’s lover), Sky Renfro, Peter himself, and John.

I absolutely loved reading this book. I’m inspired not only by Peter’s passion for leading an authentic life but also of his stories of standing up for those being discriminated against, including men of color, drag queens and those who are transgender.

But for me the most moving passages were those in which the author describes the way he plays. When Peter flogs or whips a bottom in a leather scene, he does it as an act of love.

We should all be more like Peter.
